SJ Paik (Seung Jeon Paik) is originally from South Korea, he is pursuing his Master of Fine Arts degree in the jewelry program at Savannah College of Art and Design. He also received a M.F.A in metalwork from Kookmin University in South Korea where he focused on not only using conventional metalsmithing techniques but also utilizing the computer to create his artworks. He also created public sculptures as well as operating his own studio and had taught at three universities for four years. He is trying to make a way combining traditional jewelry techniques and CAD for his jewelry. In addition, he has been honored with the Artistic Honors Fellowship by SCAD. He also won the grand prize at the 2nd Swarovski’s competition, a prize at the International Craft Exhibition in Japan, and a special award at the Chungbuk Art Exhibition in South Korea.
